New 540 m² office at Corridor 5 gives the SaaS company room to grow, a train station on its doorstep and a workplace designed for hybrid working.
UAB-Online, the digital platform for liquid and dry bulk shipping, will move from Mijdrecht to a new office in Breukelen in early 2027. The company has signed a lease for approximately 540 m² of office space at Corridor 5, a short distance from the A2 motorway and Breukelen railway station.
The move gives UAB-Online more space for its growing team and the chance to design an office around the way it works: hybrid, with the office as the place where teams meet, plan and solve problems together.
Why Breukelen
Accessibility was the deciding factor. Unlike Mijdrecht, Breukelen has a railway station on the Amsterdam–Utrecht line, and the A2 junctions are close by. Colleagues can reach the office by train as easily as by car, and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is within easy reach for international colleagues, customers and partners.
The better connections widen the area UAB-Online can recruit from, in the Netherlands and abroad, while the office stays close to its current base for existing staff. The same connections make it practical for colleagues who live further apart to meet in person, which is exactly what the new office is for.
“This move is about more than extra space. We believe in a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of working remotely. Our new office should make that balance work in practice: a place where people do their best work and teams learn from each other,” says Hans Bobeldijk, CEO of UAB-Online.
An office designed for hybrid working
Landlord Meerdervoort will deliver the office on a turnkey basis, with the fit-out tailored to UAB-Online’s requirements: suited to today’s team, with room for new colleagues. The layout will combine space for focused individual work with areas for meetings and collaboration, so that colleagues come in because it adds something to their working day. Remote working remains part of how the company operates. NOBL Real Estate represented Meerdervoort and managed the letting process.
Close to its inland shipping roots
UAB-Online started in inland shipping and now serves terminals and shipping companies worldwide. From its new office, the Amsterdam–Rhine Canal, one of the busiest inland waterways in the Netherlands, is just around the corner.
