Sealed dossiers
Maximum data integrity for archived dossiers
Starting March 3rd, dossiers that were completed or cancelled more than two weeks ago will automatically be sealed. This means they become permanently read-only and can no longer be modified — neither in the application nor via the API.
This functionality was developed to safeguard the integrity of finalized dossiers and to prevent unintended changes.
When a dossier is sealed:
-
Documents can no longer be added, modified, or deleted;
-
Forms can no longer be created;
-
Stakeholders or access permissions can no longer be changed;
-
Planning actions or imports via the API can no longer be executed;
-
All actions that would modify the dossier are technically blocked;
-
Actions such as viewing, downloading, and printing remain available.
Within the interface, editing buttons automatically disappear once a dossier is sealed. If a modification is attempted via a direct URL or API call, a clear error message will be returned.
How does it work?
-
An automated background job checks daily which dossiers have been archived for more than 14 days.
-
These dossiers are automatically assigned the status Sealed.
-
The sealing logic is centrally implemented to ensure that future functionality cannot bypass this protection.
-
The Visit Export API now includes a Sealed field (true/false), allowing integrations to take this status into account.
Why this change?
-
Protection of finalized data.
-
Prevention of errors in completed dossiers.
-
Clear lifecycle definition of a dossier.
-
Improved support for compliance and audit processes
With sealed dossiers, we strengthen the reliability of the platform and ensure that finalized dossiers are truly final.
