Starting from May 2024, Shell officially integrated UAB-Online's innovative liquid bulk handling software into its sea shipping operations at Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam. This marks a significant step forward in the park's liquid bulk optimization journey.
About Shell Energy and Chemical Park Rotterdam
The Shell Energy and Chemicals Park Rotterdam (Pernis) hosts about sixty different oil and chemical processing factories. The site also includes a biofuel plant which will produce sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel from waste materials like cooking oil and plant residues. Furthermore, Shell builds a hydrogen plant in Maasvlakte. The Europoort terminal handles the reception, storage, and pumping of crude oil and naphtha, shipping products to overseas markets. Shell Pernis processes 404,000 barrels of crude oil daily, producing diesel, gasoline, kerosene, base oils, LPG, and fuel oil, as well as polyols and solvents. These products are transported through 160,000 kilometers of pipelines.
Digitise processes of liquid bulk
For Shell, implementing UAB-Online’s application for liquid bulk improves numerous facets of their operation.
- Earlier preparation; administrative obligations prior to the vessels mooring and shorter port stays
- Digital insights: all info digitally available in 1 dossier
- Clear Communication; less phone, email communication and physical contact
- Safer process; repetitive checks, less mistakes and better compliant with regulations and law
- Less administration; exchange, sign and complete documents digitally
UAB-Online is eager to embark on this journey together with Shell, working towards a future that's not only safe and efficient but also sustainable.
